FechaMay 18th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

Twenty-five years —which we have celebrated at length— plus another year (which has gone by very quickly too) add up to the 26 Years that the Rusiñol Gallery complies with today For this great occasion, we also have a great painter: Lluís Roura, with his extraordinary exhibition titled “The four seasons” (in direct reference to his four large paintings that share together this same title). Josep Mª Cadena has rightly pointed out: «The known landscapes are never-ending when they have been internalized and are carried inside us as real samples of creative identity».

“The next”: Lluís Roura (May 4th-June 6th 2012)

FechaMay 3rd, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

With the arrival of May, the Rusiñol Gallery dresses up to celebrate its 26th anniversary of cultural activity. As required by the occasion, we present the work of a highly accaimed Catalan artist who cresses our borders.

With his collection “The four seasons”, LLUÍS ROURA, will fill up the Rusiñol Gallery with the magic light of the Empordà plains: «In Lluís Roura’s paintings, where the Empordà land is opening up to the infinite along with our spirit, there is a strong evolution toward an absolute true painting as a materialization of a collective truth» (by Josep M. Cadena).

We are very pleased for offerring to you an exhibition of these characteristics.

The inaguration will be, Good willing, next FRIDAY, May 4th, at 7:30 pm. Mr Josep Mª Cadana will be in charge of the foreword.

FechaApril 25th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

«—Is this The Laurel Inn? Sir, you are in it, you see. –And the innkeeper, is he in? —You are talking to him…» (“Don Juan Tenorio”)… In actual fact, we are not in The Laurel Inn, but in the Rusiñol Gallery. But it so happens that this time another Juan A. Tenorio has come with his exhibition “Human anatomy”… And, with such an enjoyable knack, Mr. Cadena has introduced him.

“The next”: Tenorio (April 14th- May 2nd, 2012)

FechaApril 12th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

A set of urban subjects architecturally worked out, where feelings are not disregarded, is Juan Antonio TENORIO’s new proposition which, under the title “Urban Anatomy”, he stages at the Rusiñol Gallery.

The great dramatic power differentiating his work, coupled with an excellent use of technique, has allowed him a personal expression before which the viewer does not know whether to rather admire the composition, design or colour, or surrender to the perfection of his collages, where music scores, letters, old manuscripts, newspapers and posters of films he brings from his travels, become just another colour of his palette…

“20 years later”. Yes, it has been a long time since Jose Miguel ROMÁN FRANCÉS had exhibited at the Rusiñol Gallery. Now, exactly 20 years later, he is doing it again, and with a very high quality. —I hope that we will not have to wait twenty years again to see his work!, said Ignasi Cabanas.

“The next”: Román Francés (16.III-11.IV.2012)

FechaMarch 15th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

With his exhibition “20 year later” ROMÁN FRANCÉS reminds us of the exhibition he presented in 1992.

In his paintings, the girls are wrapped in colourful shawls, flowers seem to escape out of the pictures to transmit their aroma. And life can be heard in the gardens and the silence can be felt.

Colours with the fragance of the Mediterranean sea, contemplative atmospheres which are narrating poetry, intimacy with great sensitivity… are some of the human and plastic qualities that become a wide open window of his work. This helps us to breath the painting full of essence and emotions reflected vividly.

The inauguration, with the presence of the artist, will be on Friday, March 16th at 19:30. The commentary will be made by the art critic Mr. Josep M. Cadena.

“The next”: Sanagustín (24.II – 14.III.2012)

FechaFebruary 23rd, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

“Harmony and stillness in nature” is the new proposal that Javier Sanagustín —a classical exponent of watercolor painting— presents at the Rusiñol Gallery.

This artist, who is with us since the very beginning of our history, remains faithful to the topic of landscapes in different seasons. Natural humility is integrated into a symphony of pure feelings and is exhibited in the entire work.

Inauguration of Vives Fierro (February 3rd, 2012)

February 3rd, 2012: neither cold nor snow can block the usual expectation generated each time the great Antoni Vives Fierro exhibits with us. Full of people, as always! This time, moreover, Cities and people brings a new proposal by the painter —”the people”—, but with continuity and in his distinctive style, characterized by using collage. This exhibition is presently being enjoyed by the visitors!

“The next”: Vives Fierro (3-22.II.2012)

FechaFebruary 3rd, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

“CITIES AND PEOPLE” is the new proposal which VIVES FIERRO presents at the Rusiñol Gallery.
CITIES that emphasize how chaotic our society may be, through the use of collage-painting, that takes advantage of many different elements, which individually placed outside context, create a new pictorial dimension.
CHARACTERS through which the artist makes a radical proposal. With them, he interprets the way how we have to look outside, prompting us to renew ourselves as people.
