FechaJanuary 26th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

At Rusiñol Gallery we have the pleasure to exhibit these days a beautiful collection of urban landscapes by the painter Eduard Malvehy, with his specific characteristics of geometric architecture, peaceful urban feelings, right combination of colours, wide range of cities… All of these deserve the title “The carm of towns”. Observers can enjoy this more humane view of the cities…

“The next”: Malvehy (13.I – 1.II.2012)

FechaJanuary 12th, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

We are starting this year with EDUARD MALVEHY who offers us a wonderful exhibition on the subject “The charm of the cities”, by allowing us to take a fantastic tour through the cities he visits and is fond of.

Malvehy is one of today’s artists who has managed to build his own pictorial geometry. In his work it is possible to find positive references to what we have seen in different trips, along with what we have learnt in several readings about the world around us. Although, always, with a language both realistic and cult.

The inauguration will be, God willing, next Friday, January 13th, at 19.30 pm. The presentation will be taken care of by Mr. Josep M. Cadena.

Inauguration of Cruañas (December 16th 2011)

FechaJanuary 2nd, 2012 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

Christmas 2011! As always during this season, it gives us great pleasure to have with us a guest of special renown. On this occasion we are together with Josep Cruañas, and precisely with his collection of “The colour of dreams”. It is said that he is a “self controlled impressionist”. Cruañas doesn’t deny that, but —avoiding any excessive labeling— he prefers to clarify that he is a follower of the figurative tradition.

“The next”: Cruañas (16.XII.2011 – 11.I.2012)

FechaDecember 15th, 2011 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

An exquisite use of oil and watercolor is evident in the exhibition “The color of the illusion” that Josep Cruañas presents at the Rusiñol Gallery coinciding with the Christmas holidays.

New York, Venice, Amsterdam, Honfleur, London and even Barcelona, appear enfolded by a vaporous quality, a humid atmosphere, an essential characteristic of his work along with the density of the palette and the chromatic intensity of the neutral tones.

The inauguration, God willing, will be this Friday, December 16th, at 1930 hours. The art critic Josep M. Cadena, great connoisseur of this work, will be responsible for the presentation.

“The next”: Laporta (25.XI – 14.XII.2011)

FechaNovember 24th, 2011 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

Jaume Laporta presents a new collection of his works. “Reading the reality” is the title of this exhibition through which we can take a tour of the themes which are usual for him and through which perfection is evident in the drawings of everything he sees.

In his paintings, through respect for shapes, Laporta manages to find a good way to express feelings. Figures, still-life, cityscapes, seascapes, ropes and boats get that kind of representation only available to real artists.

The inauguration will be, God willing, this Friday, November 25th, at 19:30 hours. Josep M. Cadena, journalist and art critic, will be in charge of the presentation.

Inauguration of Montserrat Masdeu (November 4th 2011)

FechaNovember 14th, 2011 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

November 4th, at dusk: lots of rain in the street and many flowers —Montserrat Masdeu’s work— at the Rusiñol Gallery: gardens, large greenhouses, facades with flower pots, in large and small sizes, and all sorts of colors… Neither rain these flowers need —although we can almost smell them— nor the friends we expected at the inauguration. The flowers did better, and so did the art of this artist: we, the friends, simply were there.

“The next”: Montserrat Masdeu (4-23.XI.2011)

FechaNovember 2nd, 2011 | CategoriaPosted in The next | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

With her exhibition “Recreating gardens and cities”, Montserrat Masdeu will fill us with colours and vitality as of next Friday. An artist well known by many of you, she has always presented to us wonderful exhibits which do not leave us indifferent.

In her paintings her dialogs with travels are continuous: people and their circumstances are useful for composing pictures alive with figures, interiors, to stop in front of peculiar house fronts (Venice, Paris, London…), and for opening doors, gardens, greenhouses, yards and countless testimonies of her going around, back and forth.

Inauguration of Jordi Isern (October 14th 2011)

FechaOctober 29th, 2011 | CategoriaPosted in Inaugurations at the Rusiñol Gallery | ComentariosNo comments,» your comment

One way or other, we have all felt relaxed while contemplating nature in a nice autumn day. But what is best is to feel like that through an artistic representation. That is what Jordi Isern has brought to the Rusiñol Gallery. The “Colors beating with emotion” are found typically in autumn. But Isern’s mastery makes it also possible on landscapes in winter and spring, and in landscapes of different places of the country.
